Chelsea Flower Show Chauffeur 2027: Drop-Off, Prices and Getting Your Plants Home

Chelsea Flowers show
A chauffeur to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show costs from £288: a four-hour hourly booking in a Mercedes E-Class, covering a Mayfair pickup, set-down at the Bull Ring Gate, and collection when you have seen enough. The show runs Tuesday 18 to Saturday 22 May 2027 at Royal Hospital Chelsea, SW3 4SR. Your quote is fixed before you confirm.

Chelsea Flower Show 2027 dates and ticket days

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2027 runs from Tuesday 18 May to Saturday 22 May 2027. The RHS splits the week as follows:
  • Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 May – RHS Members’ days, 8am to 8pm.
  • Thursday 20 to Saturday 22 May – public days, 8am to 8pm, closing at 5.30pm on the Saturday.
  • Friday 21 May – Chelsea Late, 5.30pm to 10pm.
  • Saturday 22 May, 4pm to 5.30pm – the Great Plant Sell Off, when exhibitors sell their display plants.
Tickets are delivered via the AXS app and there is no re-entry once you leave the showground, which matters when you plan a lunch: leave the show once, at the end of your visit, and have the car waiting. The Members’ days are the calmest for arrivals; Saturday afternoon is the busiest on the surrounding roads as the Sell Off empties out.

Drop-off and road closures around Royal Hospital Chelsea

The RHS directs taxis to drop off and pick up at the Bull Ring Gate on Chelsea Embankment (SW3 4LW), on the south side of the showground. The main London Gate entrance is on Royal Hospital Road, SW3 4SR, to the north. During show week the area is under temporary traffic management: the 360 bus stop at Bull Ring Gate is suspended, coaches need a permit to set down on the Embankment, and the residential streets between the King’s Road and the river are heavily stewarded. How we work it:
  • Your chauffeur sets you down on the Embankment side for the Bull Ring Gate or as close to the London Gate as the traffic plan allows, whichever suits your ticket.
  • Royal Hospital Chelsea sits inside the Congestion Charge zone; the charge is added at cost and shown in your quote.
  • For collection, we agree a fixed meeting point before you get out of the car. Your chauffeur messages the exact spot and registration when he is in position.
Road closures around the site are set by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and can change year to year; check the RHS travel advice for this year’s arrangements, and we will confirm the practical set-down point when we brief your chauffeur the day before.

  • 09:50 – set-down at the Bull Ring Gate, Chelsea Embankment.
  • 09:50 to 13:00 – the show gardens, the Great Pavilion and the trade stands, at your pace. Your chauffeur waits nearby.

Combining the show with lunch on Sloane Street or the King’s Road

Chelsea is at its best as a half-day at the show followed by a long lunch, and the hourly format makes that effortless. Sloane Street and Sloane Square are a five-minute drive from the Embankment; the King’s Road restaurants and the shops around Duke of York Square are even closer. Because the car is yours for the booked hours, the stop is included: your chauffeur drops you at the restaurant door, waits, then takes you home or on to a second stop. Extending the booking by an hour on the day costs £72 in an E-Class or £90 in an S-Class, agreed by message. For a full afternoon and evening, including the Friday Chelsea Late, full-day hire at £528 in an E-Class is the simpler option.

Carrying plants home: why the V-Class earns its place on Saturday

The Great Plant Sell Off on Saturday 22 May, from 4pm to 5.30pm, is the one part of the week where the vehicle really matters. Exhibitors sell the plants from their displays, and visitors leave carrying everything from potted roses to small trees. A saloon boot will take a couple of pots. The Mercedes V-Class, with six seats and a large, flat load area behind the rear row, will take a serious haul, and your chauffeur will help load it and keep it upright on the drive home. Tell us at the time of booking that you are attending the Sell Off and we will allocate a V-Class and protective covering for the load space. Note that Chelsea permits only guide and assistance dogs, and no pushchairs, so plan to carry only what you buy.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a chauffeur to the Chelsea Flower Show cost?

From £288 for four hours in a Mercedes E-Class (£72 per hour, four-hour minimum), £360 in an S-Class or six-seat V-Class, and £528 in a Range Rover, all including VAT and 20 miles. The Congestion Charge is added at cost and shown in your fixed quote before you confirm.

Where does the chauffeur wait during the show?

Nearby, at a legal waiting position outside the RBKC show-week restrictions, so that he can be at the agreed collection point within a few minutes of your message. Waiting is included in your hourly booking. You are never asked to walk to a distant car park.

Can I bring plants home in the car?

Yes. A Mercedes E-Class or S-Class carries a handful of pots in the boot; for the Saturday Great Plant Sell Off we recommend the Mercedes V-Class, whose load area takes tall and bulky plants upright. Tell us when you book and we will line the load space and allocate the right vehicle.

Isn’t a taxi easier for Chelsea?

Not on show week. Taxis are directed to the same Bull Ring Gate point and are hard to hail on the Embankment at closing time. With a pre-booked chauffeur you have a fixed price, a known collection point, a car that waits, and space for what you buy, backed by our On-Time Guarantee.

Can I go from Heathrow straight to the Chelsea Flower Show?

Yes. A one-way Heathrow chauffeur transfer to central London starts at £144 in an E-Class or £180 in an S-Class or V-Class, with 60 minutes of waiting and flight monitoring included. Your luggage stays in the car while you visit the show, and your chauffeur takes you on to your hotel afterwards. Book your Chelsea Flower Show chauffeur for May 2027.
