How much does a chauffeur service in London cost?
Excel Chauffeurs charges from £72 per hour for an Executive Mercedes E-Class (4-hour minimum, so £288), from £90 per hour for a First Class Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7 Series, and from £132 per hour for a Range Rover, all including VAT. Fixed one-way transfers start at £120, Heathrow to Central London from £144, and a full 8-hour day from £528. Every price is a fixed quote agreed before you pay. See the full 2026 price list.
What happens if my flight is delayed or lands early?
We monitor every inbound flight live, so your chauffeur arrives for the actual landing time, not the scheduled one. Airport collections include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, which covers immigration and baggage on most flights. If you are held up beyond that, tell us or your chauffeur and the extra waiting is simply added as additional time; you will never be left without a car.
Is the London Congestion Charge included in the price?
The TfL Congestion Charge is passed on at cost with no VAT added: a flat £18 for any journey or hourly booking that enters the Central London zone, whether one-way, airport transfer or as-directed hire. Airport parking and drop-off fees are handled the same way. All of these are built into the fixed quote you see before you confirm, so the final price is never higher than the quote.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at the airport?
In the arrivals hall, holding a name board, at every London airport we serve: Heathrow (all terminals), Gatwick North and South, Stansted, Luton, London City and Farnborough. Your chauffeur also texts the mobile number on your booking before you land. If you cannot see them, call 020 4515 4441 and do not leave the terminal until you have met your chauffeur. For a fully escorted arrival, add our VIP Meet & Greet at Heathrow or Gatwick.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Most journeys can be booked with as little as two hours’ notice, 24 hours a day. For airport collections, event days and multi-car bookings we recommend booking as early as you can to secure your preferred vehicle. VIP Meet & Greet must be booked at least 24 hours ahead. Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes. One-way and airport transfers cancelled more than 24 hours before pickup are refunded in full (bookings over £750 carry a 3% admin fee). Under 24 hours, 50% is non-refundable; under 12 hours, the booking is non-refundable. For £25 you can add Cancellation Protection and cancel free up to 4 hours before pickup. Amendments are handled by phone, email or through your online account or the app.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes. Booster seats are provided free of charge on request. Baby seats and child seats (rear-facing infant carriers and forward-facing seats) are £25 per seat, per booking, and are shown in your quote. Request them when booking; by law you fit the seat yourself, and children count as passengers when choosing your vehicle.
Are your chauffeurs licensed and vetted?
Yes. Excel Chauffeurs is a licensed private hire operator (TfL, Castle Point and Hertsmere) and every chauffeur holds a private hire driver licence, is DBS-checked and has a minimum of three years’ chauffeur experience; some are also defensive-driving trained. Chauffeurs are suited, never use a phone while driving and treat your privacy as a matter of course.
Which areas do you cover?
Greater London and all six London airports 24/7, plus the Home Counties and day trips or business travel anywhere in the UK. Out-of-town hire starts at £96 per hour with an 8-hour minimum and 150 miles included. Corporate clients can open an invoiced business account with ex-VAT pricing.
